USEFUL STUFF

Hotel guest policy
The Harper is a residents-only hotel. Whether you’re a guest or a member, we want you to feel entirely at home here. Although we don’t permit non-residents to use the hotel’s bar, restaurant, spa or pool, you’re very welcome to bring up to 4 of your own guests into the hotel, and you are responsible for each of your guests while they’re with us.
Dogs
Dogs are allowed in all ground floor rooms, as well as The Hall, The Bar, The Den and The Yard. Although we love our furry friends, we can’t allow them upstairs in Ivy’s or Stanley’s.
Room rates & promotions
Please note that hotel rates will vary between high and low season. We may on occasion offer late availability offers or special promotional rates, in which case only one offer can be used per booking, and offers can’t be applied retrospectively.
Check in and check out
Check in at The Harper is from 3pm.

Check out (alas, all good things come to an end) is 11am.

You’re more than welcome to enjoy the hotel’s facilities if you arrive early, and once you’ve checked out.

Cancellations
Full payment is required on making a booking. If you have to cancel up to 72 hours prior to arrival, we’ll refund you in full. If you cancel within 72 hours of arrival we regret no refund will be offered. If your booking is cancelled by us for any reason, you will of course receive a full refund.
Children
Parents rejoice! We have 4 sets of adjoining rooms, so you can enjoy peace of mind without the kids getting under your feet. Adjoining rooms have one room with a king-size bed which connects to a room with twin beds. The twin rooms can sleep up to 2 people. We also have travel cots available free of charge if you have a toddler in tow – we kindly ask that you request one at the time of booking so that we can have it available for the duration of your stay.

We welcome all ages, though please note that children under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the spa facilities.

Getting to The Harper
The nearest mainline train stations are King’s Lynn and Norwich – both are easily accessible from London and are 45 minutes from the hotel. Uber hasn’t quite reached Norfolk yet but we have a couple of good taxi options to try:

Kings Lynn taxis 01553 763636

Norwich taxis 01603 446644

If you’re driving from (central) London, it should take you around 3 hours via the M11, A11, A134 and A1065.

Smoking
No smoking or vaping is permitted inside The Harper. We ask that you refrain from smoking  in the car park outside the hotel, though smoking is allowed in The Yard. We reserve the right to charge to the card you have used to secure your booking a reasonable fee in respect of specialist cleaning in the event we suspect smoking has taken place in your room(s) during your stay.
Noise
All guests are asked to respect other guests and local residents while in the hotel and outside in The Yard.
Special requests
We will always do our best to fulfil any special requests you may have, but please note we cannot always guarantee this (much as we’d like to!)
Getting out and about during your stay
Harper bicycles are available to hire for the day free of charge, and North Norfolk is ideal cycling country (yes, it’s quite flat).

You’ll find some information about local excursions and activities on the Out & About page, on the website, and our team are always happy to give you recommendations. If you like nothing better than roaming with map in hand, do check at the front desk to see if we have a walking route that takes your fancy.
