Our two accessible rooms, 101 and 103, are conveniently located on the ground floor. At over 300 square feet, they’re thoughtfully configured for wheelchair users, and the spacious bathrooms are equipped for guests with impaired mobility.
Breakfast is served in Stanley’s each morning, or delivered to your door if you prefer. And when we say included, we mean everything on the breakfast menu – whether that’s The Harper breakfast basket, or something heartier.
Breakfast is served from 7.30am-10.30am
All day bar menu (served wherever you fancy) from 12:30pm-7pm
Dinner is served in Stanley’s and The Bar from 6:30pm-10pm. Last orders 9:30pm.
Full payment is required on making a booking. If you’d like to change your booking, you can take advantage of our FlexiStay offer – find out more here. If you find you need to cancel, you can do so without charge up to 7 (seven) days prior to arrival – we’ll refund you in full. If you cancel within 7 (seven) days of arrival we regret no refund will be offered.
Check in at The Harper is from 4pm.
Check out (alas, all good things come to an end) is 11am.
While we welcome all ages, it’s worth noting that The Harper is a place for grown-up pursuits, and is therefore not designed for children. There are no children’s facilities and no children’s menus. We ask that children under 12 are accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Children under 16 must be accompanied - and supervised at all times - by a responsible adult when using the pool and spa facilities, and are not permitted to use the hot tub, steam room or sauna.
When making a room booking, a child rate applies to children aged 3-16 at the time of the stay. A toddler is classed as an infant up to the age of 3, sleeping in a cot free of charge. If you’d like a travel cot in your room (subject to availability), simply select in the ‘Extras’ section of the booking process.
If you’re bringing children you’ll be pleased to know that we have two sets of adjoining rooms, so you can enjoy peace of mind without the kids getting under your feet. Adjoining rooms have one room with a king-size bed which connects to a room with twin beds, ideal for children old enough for their own space (within earshot!). The twin rooms sleep up to 2 people. For younger children, you might like to choose our spacious Family Room, or our Family Cottage, which both sleep four. For larger families, our Biggest Family Cottage sleeps eight.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at The Harper, so if your four-legged friend falls into this category, you’ll be pleased to hear that dog-friendly rooms are available. If you’ve a pet allergy, the patter of paws around the place may trigger symptoms, so it’s important you’re aware of this before booking. Dogs are permitted in The Bar, The Yard, and Ivy's although we don’t allow them in Stanley’s. There is a £25 charge per room, per night, and beds (for your dog, of course) are available on request. We politely ask that you use the ‘Dog & Boot’ (around the corner to the left of the main entrance) to wash muddy paws before entering – towels are also provided.
Anything goes here!
You’ll find some information about local excursions and activities on the Out & About page, on the website, and our team are always happy to give you recommendations. If you like nothing better than roaming with map in hand, do check at the front desk to see if we have a walking route that takes your fancy.
The nearest mainline train stations are King’s Lynn and Norwich – both are easily accessible from London and are 45 minutes from the hotel. Uber hasn’t quite reached Norfolk yet but we have a couple of good taxi options to try:
Kings Lynn taxis 01553 763636
Norwich taxis 01603 446644
If you’re driving from (central) London, it should take you around 3 hours via the M11, A11, A134 and A1065.
The Harper is a residents-only hotel. Whether you’re a guest or a member, we want you to feel entirely at home here. Although we don’t permit non-residents to use the hotel’s bar, restaurant, spa or pool, you’re very welcome to bring up to 4 of your own guests into the hotel, and you are responsible for each of your guests while they’re with us.
All guests are asked to respect other guests and local residents while in the hotel and outside in The Yard.
Parking is freely available for guests – On arrival, ‘h' marks the spot (or rather, space) for your car. Please only park in the spaces marked ‘h'. If yours is an electric vehicle, you'll be pleased to know there are Tesla and PodPoint chargers in the car park exclusively for guests. For PodPoint chargers there is a fee of £0.99p per kWh your car is connected to the charger, even if it's already fully charged, so please do remember to move your car promptly to allow other guests to use it. We cannot accept liability for loss or damage caused to any vehicle (or its contents).
We’re always happy to host private events. You can contact us with your requirements via the form on the website, or alternatively send us an email at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note that hotel rates will vary between high and low season. We may on occasion offer late availability offers or special promotional rates, in which case only one offer can be used per booking, and offers can’t be applied retrospectively.
No smoking or vaping is permitted inside The Harper, or in The Yard. Smoking is permitted in the garden across the carpark, opposite the front doors. We reserve the right to charge to your booking card a reasonable fee in respect of specialist cleaning in the event we suspect smoking has taken place in your room(s) during your stay.
If you’d like to indulge in a treatment or two while you’re with us, we ask that you book in advance so that we can tailor your treatment to your needs. You can see the menu here, and book by emailing email@example.com. At the moment we are also making the pool, hot tub and sauna available for exclusive use in 30-minute sessions – please pre-book yours by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The pool is open every day from 7am to 10pm.
We will always do our best to fulfil any special requests you may have, but please note we cannot always guarantee this (much as we’d like to!)
